Moments Are Temporary

I strongly believe that a person who do not have some vision or approach to future will always talk about the past.  Things are different in childhood. Everything is so simple. We are living under our parents shadow. Any problem was not a part of our life because our parent never let those problem to come close to us. As we become older, life become miserable. Now parents can not protect us because they can not. We have to stand for our self and after sometime for our parents too. The kind of philosophy which I mentioned above is for weak people. Intellects need just a support in their childhood from their parent. After that they are going to Explore.  There are three categories of people: LEADER                                             FOLLOWER                                       EXPLORER We all know about the first two. But the kind of people who made difference are the explorer.  But to live your life to fullest you have to be master in each of the three categories. If you tak

Paranthe Wali Gali : The Paradise Of A Foodie

Image
Delhi and Delhites are known as much for their insatiable appetites as they are for the unending variety of food found in the city. But what really captures the essence of the city is the street food that changes colour and taste but gets only better with discovering the city. A visit to Chandni Chowk is incomplete without tasting the delicious trademark food served there. One such complex alley is the famed  Paranthe Wali Gali , a gastronomical experience in the by-lane of Chandni Chowk. Half the fun of eating at Old Delhi’s Paranthe Wali Gali, is getting there. The other half, is of course, the food. This place is a must try for every foodie. Even if you have a hectic travel schedule, do find some time to do some binge eating here.  The parathas are good and the atmosphere of the chaotic maze of Chandi Chowk is part of the fun!  The food here is strictly vegetarian and the dishes do not even contain onion or garlic because their owners are Brahmins and traditional

Agrasen Ki Baoli : Surrounded By Walls That Tell Tales

Image
I guess, at least the Delhiites or the people who are fond of bollywood movies should be well aware of this place. To spit out straight, this place gained its popularity upon the release of Aamir Khan’s Indian satirical comedy drama PK which was a huge hit not only in India but also in East Asian countries (no wonder!) and in North America as well. In my case, I thank Google Maps!  The main thing that pulls tourists and the locals to Agrasen ki Baoli is the long list of haunted stories attached to this place. There is a particular thing about haunted areas that they are particularly beautiful; or who knows it may be vice versa. People might have made spooky stories about Agrasen ki Baoli because of its enigmatic architecture. Although the primary purpose of this step well was to preserve water, the well has dried up now. At the extreme frontal center of the steps, you can see thousands of bats hanging from the roof of the room creating a screeching sound. If you are alone a

Trekking In Guwahati

Image
On the far eastern side of India, in the tea state of Assam, lies this fascinating land of natural and cultural wealth – the land we call Guwahati.  Guwahati is a place of many charms. From the lush green hills and tea plantations to the winding Brahmaputra River, from the glorious sacred temples to the bustling markets. Guwahati ’ s beauty and culture are both alluring. If you are in North East and you don’t climb a hill, your stay is incomplete so this is one thing I headed for when I landed in this city. The entire city is surrounded by hills and the best parts to go trekking are Nilachal hill and the hills of Nizorapaar. For easy accessibility and identification of Nilachal hill, I just asked my cabbie to go to Kamakhya Temple as told by my friends. I was dropped at the entry gate of the temple which is adjacent to the main road. From there, I started my hike amid rich flora and fauna and even if you don’t intend to visit the temple, be assured that your trekking exp

Up In The Air : Giving Wings To Dreams

Image
Man always had a fascination to be able to do the things he was not physically capable of doing and somehow or the other he always found a way of doing it. Though never meant to but man had always wanted to fly and because of this desire of man airplanes were invented and man's dream of flying freely like birds has finally become a reality. I had a dream of flying since my early childhood and first flight experience is unforgettable for any one and it was fun and my heart was fluttering with happiness like a kid who explored something very new. The child in me couldn't wait to share it with his peers. Being a kid in middle class Indian family my idea and attachment with aeroplanes was limited to waiving at them thinking the commuters would wave at us one day. Though it was a dream to travel by air, whenever it came to real situation mixed feelings involving fear of travelling alone overpowered anxiety and happiness. As I entered the airport for the first time I felt lik

A Tale Of Two Cities

You can love it, you can hate it, but you can never ignore it. Delhi is one city that has it all -  the good, the bad, the ugly and the awesome! You might have heard of Delhi for all kinds of reasons- politics, festivals, crime, and many others. However, there is always a lot more to it than whats meet the eye. Delhi is haste, Delhi is lethargy, Delhi is serene, Delhi is bustling; a million words too would fall short, if we intend to complement the vastness of what this city is comprised of. The city is the seat of Indian Government, mainstream media channels, India’s topmost universities, sky-soaring industries, superabundant shopping scenario, pious shrines, deafening parties, toothsome foods and this list expands every millisecond here. Delhi is not only the capital of India rather it is a destination where you can enjoy the most sophisticated lifestyle as  well as survive an underprivileged routine. People visiting Delhi for the first time find the city awe-inspiring and peo

Connaught Place : The Times Square Of India

Image
Classical English architecture, wide beautifully-kept roads, colonnaded walkways and glittering large showrooms of every known brand – if it were not for the recurring garbage piles and betel (“paan”) stains ornamenting the white walls and grey marble floor, one would have thought they were somewhere in Europe. Welcome to Connaught Place – the heart of Lutyen’s Delhi! Officially called Rajiv Chowk and often abbreviated as CP, the massive commercial area was originally conceived to provide maximum shopping experience to British colonialists and military officers who then ruled over the subcontinent from their newly developed capital apparently called as “New Delhi”, but now predominantly caters a audience consisting of the Westernized, rapidly multiplying, newly affluent middle-class of a modern capital. A reflection of the vast changes that have crept unopposed in the society with time, the market’s large buildings that once housed British shops, bakeries and bookstores are now o
